Most people appreciate a lovely buffet. Making the little extra to present the food in a neat and appealing way is an important step in creating a good overall experience for the guest. Of course, it also needs to be safe. We have the products that help you create a buffet that is extraordinary.

Create an inviting buffet

We dare to say that buffet is something that most people appreciate. With plenty to choose from, there is probably something for everyone. But how do you create an appealing buffet that is both delicious and and works smoothly? We have 6 tips you don't want to be without.

  •  THINK LEVELS

Raise some sections of the buffet to bring the buffet to life, while at the same time making it easier to access what is being served.

  • SERVE ON SPOON

Some dishes, such as mayonnaise and appetizers, may not be taken much from. Serve them on spoons for the guest to easily bring along.

  • BE IN SEASON

Serving and decorating in accordance with the season is a good way to frame the buffet.

  • GIVE ROOM FOR LOGIC

See the buffet as a seven-course meal and have the food placed "from start to finish". Generally, you can say first vegetables, salads, tubes and cold cuts, followed by hot dishes, cheeses and finally desserts.

  • MINIMIZE BOTTLENECKS

Make sure the buffet has a good flow. Often the beginning of a buffet stops up. An idea might be to mirror the buffet and have the same arrangement from both ends of the table, or alternatively divide the arrangement on several smaller tables.

  • CLEAR INFORMATION

Be clear and inform about common allergens in the dishes to facilitate for allergic people and people with special diets.

The Food Technician's tips for a safe buffet and Food Display.

Here we have listed tips from Tingstad's food technician Daniel on what to consider for a safe buffet and food exposure:
  • RIGHT TEMPERATURES

Cold food should be kept cold with a temperature of max 8 degrees Celsius. Hot food should keep the temperature above 60 degrees.

  • CHANGE SERVING UTENSILS FREQUENTLY

Frequent replacements reduce the risk of contamination.

  • REPLACE A CONTAINER RATHER THAN REPLENISH IT

Alternatively, use smaller vessels that are replenished frequently.

  • USE SIGNS AND LABELS TO DISPLAY ALLERGENS IN YOUR DISHES

A good way to make the buffet safer for allergy sufferers and for those who eat vegetarian, for example.

  • USE COVERS AND LIDS TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION

The cover can be in the form of a lid or some kind of "roof" over the serving and thus protect the food.
