Founded in Uedem in 1910, ELTEN is now one of the leading manufacturers of safety and work footwear in Europe with around 400 employees and an annual production of approx. 3 million pairs of shoes. Whether for craftsmen, firefighters or airport security personnel - our modern safety and work shoes provide perfect foot protection and are absolutely comfortable.
Our assortment also includes shoes of the Jori brand. The label with the striking Knight shield enjoys an excellent reputation in trade and industry because it stands for quality, safety and perfect value-for-money.
In addition to innovations such as the modern cushioning technology WELLMAXX and BIOMEX PROTECTION, ELTEN develops sustainable solutions in the areas of ecology, economy and society.
The cushioning material, which originally comes from the sports sector, uses expanded thermoplastic polyurethane. It expands when you step on it and immediately flows back when the foot rolls off giving a 55% energy return. This rebound effect provides noticeable relief for anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet and on hard floors on the job. Next to that compared to EVA and PU the material is sustainable as it never loses its cushioning.
The BOA® Fit System makes putting on and taking off shoes a breeze. The twist closure, which can even be operated with just one hand, replaces complicated tying of laces and allows the shoe to be adjusted to fit the foot precisely. This is practical and saves time.

This is also reviewed and certified by independent auditing institutions.
We are also a member of the Leather Working Group, which is committed to the sustainable and responsible use of leather. Together with amfori BSCI, we work on the sustainable improvement of social standards in the supply chain. All sustainability measures are audited and certified by independent auditing bodies such as EcoVadis.
Our MADDOX shoes are already real classics. They combine extensive protective features with optimal wearing comfort and additionally look very sporty. What all shoes have in common is the MAXXIMO outsole with the innovative Infinergy® cushioning material from BASF. This makes standing and walking for long periods a breeze.
