Starting January 2024, Packaging Collection FTI will be phased out and instead replaced by the Producer Responsibility of the Business Community, NPA. The joint venture is backed by industry organizations such as the Association of Grocery Suppliers (DLF), Swedish Grocery Retailers, Sweden's Breweries, and the Spirits & Wine Suppliers Association (SVL). Shortly, Swedish Commerce will also join the ownership structure of the new company.
In a press release, FTI states, "For producers currently affiliated with FTI, the goal is a seamless and secure transition, as FTI's current operations will be discontinued by the end of December 2023, coinciding with the transfer of collection responsibilities to municipalities."
