Back Home Inspiration Sustainable Work Wear

Sustainable Work Wear.

Sustainable work wear is not just about durable clothes that must withstand all the stresses of the working day, but about durability throughout the chain - from production to finished product. In our range, there are carefully selected clothes that take this into account.

Labels to keep track of

Made in Green by OEKO-TEX®.

Made in Green by OEKO-TEX® is a label for materials that have been tested against harmful substances and that have been manufactured in environmentally friendly and safe facilities.

EU Ecolabel.

The EU Ecolabel (formerly the EU flower) works in the same way as "Svanen". The purpose is to promote products with a reduced impact on the environment throughout their life cycle and to serve as a guide for consumers in their product selection.

GOTS.

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is an international label for clothing and textiles that covers both social and environmental requirements.

Fairtrade Cotton.

Fairtrade Cotton is a product label that aims to improve working conditions and conditions for growers and employees in developing countries through fair trade.

Better Cotton Initative (BCI).

The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) exists to make global cotton production better for workers and for the environment in which it is grown.

Organic 100.

Organic Content Standard (OCS) is an international label that requires textile products to contain fibers that are organically grown in accordance with one of the international laws on organic production.

Repreve®.

Garments labeled with REPREVE® are made from polyester fiber produced from recycled plastic bottles and collected plastic. The yarn is the only one of its kind on the market with a fully traceable polyester fiber.

Global Recycled Standard.

The Global Recycled Standard is an international certification for the use of recycled materials. The entire supply chain is considered in the assessment, and requirements are placed on certified recycled materials, good social and environmental practices, and limited use of chemicals.

Tencel™.

Textiles made of Tencel™ Lyocell are among the most environmentally friendly available. The raw material comes from nature and is produced from FSC-certified cellulose from sustainable forestry. Tencel™ Lyocell shares many of the positive properties found in wool. Clothing made of Tencel™ Lyocell is soft, durable, retains its shape, and helps transport moisture away from the skin.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS:

Tencel and recycled materials.

Alternative sustainable materials are also emerging in the clothing industry as a complement to cotton. Two of these are tencel and recycled polyester.

Tencel lyocell is an organic material made from cellulose from fast-growing woods such as eucalyptus and beech. If a garment in Tingstad's range is made of tencel, it appears with a symbol under product properties.

Another material is recycled polyester. Then the fibers come from recycled plastic bottles that are turned into new garments. These garments are also marked with a property symbol to be easily found. Keep an eye out for "REPREVE". Another symbol that appears is the Global Recycled Standard, which is a certification given to products that have undergone recycling in order to be reused.
